High-Speed Frame Grabber with up to 4x CoaXPress

The Active Silicon FireBird high-speed frame grabber series includes versions with 1x, 2x and 4x CoaXPress interface.

The new powerful FireBird range use the latest FPGA processors, DDR3 memory and fast gen 2 PCI Express interface with 8 channels which results in an extremely high-performance DMA without CPU load. The multi channel cards allow the simultaneous video acquisition from four CoaXPress links, each link supports up to 6.25 Gbps (“CXP-6”) whilst simultaneously providing a 20.8 Mbit/sec uplink as well as 13W of power to the camera.

Supports cable lengths over 100 m

The CoaXPress transmission standard supports very long cable lengths – up to 40m at 6.25 Gbps and over 100m at 3.125 Gbps. In combination with high- performance Quad-Link cameras such as the Optronis CL-4000CXP or CL25000CXP or the JAI SP-2000 as CXP2 version as well as the SP-5000 as CXP2- version or CXP4 version, the 4XCXP6-2PE8 FireBird version is an extremely powerful system.

Easy Software Development Kit

The FireBird series are supported by Linux as well as by Windows 32 bit and 64 bit. An easy to use, yet comprehensive Software Development Kit allows integrators to develop applications quickly and simply. Our software library Common Vision Blox is supported by the Active Silicon GenTL Producer. This module corresponds to the GenICam GenTL producer specification version 1.3 and will be included as Active Silicon FireBird driver version 1.2 as of the second quarter of 2013.
